Vote YES for Measure WThe SamTrans Board and the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors recently approved an investment plan that will be on this November's ballot for San Mateo County’s next transportation funding measure, a half-cent sales tax proposal that will generate $80 million a year for public transportation projects.
After actively participating in the process to ensure that the projects and programs selected benefit low-income families, people of color, youth, seniors, immigrants, transit users, bicyclists, and pedestrians, the Transportation Equity Allied Movement Coalition (TEAMC) has decided to enthusiastically support Measure W. |

A VISIONARY TRANSPORTATION AGENDA
TEAMC strongly supports the proposed 2018 San Mateo County ballot measure in order to:
Maintain and significantly enhance the public transit system, with an emphasis on the kinds of services that most benefit transit-dependent populations. 60% of the measure’s funding will go towards local and regional transit investments that improve service frequency and connectivity, travel times and reliability, technology and conveniences, and affordability.
Expand infrastructure and programs that increase bicycle and pedestrian access and safety. At least 5% of the measure’s funding will be directed towards bicycle and pedestrian projects and programs, including the County's Safe Routes to Schools Program, protected bike lanes, & sidewalk improvements.
Other high-priority transportation improvements, such as local streets and roads, highway, and railroad grade separations, with an emphasis on moving more people with fewer cars. All roadway projects funded by the measure must plan and implement improvements for all modes (walking, biking, transit, driving).
